Queen Rania and GSMA announce 1GOAL Mobile Campaign

Mobile operators are to work with 1GOAL to deliver world’s largest cause-related campaign in support of universal education at the FIFA World Cup™ 2010. Her Majesty, Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan joined the GSMA on 16 February to announce the 1GOAL: Education for All mobile campaign, the world’s largest cause-related campaign ever undertaken. Operators serving more than 1 billion mobile users will deliver an international mobile communications campaign of unprecedented reach that combines the platform of the world’s biggest sporting occasion with the world’s largest medium, to harness public support for 1GOAL (more).


Queen Rania calls on 'ALL of Italy to sign up to 1GOAL' !

1GOAL co-founder Queen Rania of Jordan attended the 60th Anniversary of the San Remo Music Festival in Italy, to rally support for the campaign. During an exclusive, live interview with San Remo’s host, Antonella Clerici, Queen Rania discussed the importance of getting countries like Italy to commit to a campaign which calls on global leaders to live up to the education promises made at the United Nations Millennium Development Summit (more)


1GOAL makes progress at the African Union


President Paul Bai Koroma of Sierra Leone spoke in support of 1GOAL at the 14th African Union Assembly. “Getting all our children to school is a moral and developmental imperative. It must be met. It can be met. It will be met” declared president Koroma. Amidst huge applause, the appeal was unanimously adopted by the Assembly and we await the next step towards a resolution from the African Union (more).


1GOAL success in Greece


The Greek coalition is setting an incredible example of 1GOAL activity in their country. They have signed football stars Giοrgos Karagounis and Gilberto Silva, held a press release with Unesco the National Football Federation and Super League Greece and also spread the 1GOAL message at 8 football matches so far.
